SURROUNDS Outside 2008

Outside is an annual exhibition held in the grounds of Cuckoo Farm Studios. Cuckoo Farm Studios is one of the largest studio groups in the Eastern Region and is situated to the north of the historic town of Colchester, serving as a base for over 30 artists and craftspeople.

Exhibition Date August 16th - September 14th 2008

Every year the exhibition gives a number of artists the opportunity to show alongside our studio artists, and this year we invite you to respond to the title ‘Surrounds’. The theme can be interpreted in its widest sense and our grounds afford applicants the opportunity for ambitious proposals as well as those of a more modest scale. Features within the grounds offer a variety of settings and include a large grassed area, a small wood, a disused roadway and a greenhouse.

OUTSIDE 2008 will be organised and curated by Tim Skinner, a multi-media installation artist based at the studios.

The exhibitions group will review short listed applications.
