England
Tony McCorry Artist’s website… In a change to the original plans for the exhibition at Cuckoo Farm, Tony McCorry has used the residency to produce a large interconnecting graphite drawing that runs around the three main walls of the gallery. Entitled ‘ENGLAND’ the drawings fit together to form a single landscape that incorporates numerous motifs from Tony McCorry’s paintings of the British built environment. McCorry has used the opportunity that working in the space has provided to further explore his memories of the landscape of his childhood - tower blocks, churches, football grounds, rows of shops, and other public buildings - on a larger scale than has previously being possible. Also on display are a number of small paintings, contrastingly colourful, that feature many of the same components present in the drawing.

Experience 1 : un squelette humain
Lisa Temple-Cox Artist’s profile…
This exhibition is the bare bones of a new creative process, and the work contained within will be akin to a series of experiments in different languages and media. I am exploring my sense of rootlessness and displacement, as I attempt to create work with integrity and a personal resonance - without ever giving away anything too personal. In essence, this is a body of works in progress as I circle the real issues behind my recent creative impulses. The title is taken from an old science book I found in France during a residency at the Chateau de Sacy in 2005. This residency had a profound effect on me, and how I feel about much of my work since then references this experience – and in French, ‘expérience’ also means ‘experiment’. My exhibition will be a show of work made during the past year, and comprises paintings, box assemblages, collages, combines and fascinators.
Private view Friday March 07 all welcome.
