Footfall, two-channel video installation, 2010
STATEMENT:
Contemporary international New-media artist who is constantly exploring visual connections we have with sound, either scientific or emotional.
For years I was consumed by this overwhelming fascination with exploring the visual identity of sound, observing its aesthetic effects when vibrating through water. Found myself creating large sonic installations displaying my findings, but being a painter at heart I found this journey was becoming to creatively restrictive. So in 2007 I moved into video, initially continuing to work with visuals generated from my sound installation, with 'Enclosed' being the stand out piece of the early video creations (first exhibited in New York late 07).
I really started to fall in love with the medium, and the endless creative possibilities, so overtime my video work has become further removed, more abstracted, until recently where the work is no longer being dominated by sonic ripples. 'firstsite SWS' and 'footfall' are ushering in a new visual identity within my work.
