I am a self-taught artist with a background in architecture. I am predominantly interested in representational art, and most of my work is comprised of portrait, life and still-life elements which I then combine with surreal and symbolic imagery. The resulting scenes are designed to use parable and religious narratives as a proxy for autobiographical storytelling. The layers of myth, identity and cultural critique produces complex and dreamlike paintings, with influences from artists such as Edgar Degas, Lucien Freud, Salvador Dali and Stanley Spencer.
