Studio Holder

I have always been interested in art, craft and design.  I studied Garden Design prior to studying art.  Creating RHS Show Gardens led me to explore sculpture within the garden.  I chose to specialise in working with metal with a view to creating garden sculpture.  I graduated in 2009 with a first class degree in Art and Design, 3D Design and Craft.

Life long interests in horticulture and photography and observations of the natural world, pattern and colour are the inspiration for my work.

I specialise in working with metal; forged mild steel, steel and copper wires and stainless steel woven wire cloth.  I am also interested in textiles and working with wood.

My interest in photography, particularly abstract patterns and light and shadow on water and glass are providing me with inspiration for metal sculptures and woven and digitally printed fabrics.

Creating art for the garden is a progression from my experience in garden design.
